About Hollywood Backlots
In 1975, Keni Arts walked onto a sound stage in Hollywood and began his career in entertainment as a scenic artist and prop maker. Two years later, he joined local 729 of IATSE as a motion picture set painter.
It was in 1977 that he did his first ‘behind the scenes’ sketch. That was the beginning of the series ‘Hollywood Backlots’. Keni eventually turned to ink and watercolor as my medium of choice,
Visit the Gallery to see some of the watercolor paintings he did during his lunch and coffee breaks. Also are pastel paintings done off-site taken from his watercolors. These are but a small sample of the hundreds of paintings Keni did during his 20+ year career in the entertainment industry. More will be added.
